Our Origin

A problem identified inside live music.

ECHOi grew from the accessibility work of Shine Music, where founder Shawn Satterfield worked directly with disabled audience members, artists, venue teams, accessibility professionals, and technology partners in live-event environments.

That work revealed a persistent gap. Live events depend heavily on sound, yet access to lyrics, artist dialogue, announcements, and other spoken content remains inconsistent and often requires advance coordination.

ECHOi was created to help close that gap through a scalable platform built for the realities of live entertainment.

Shawn Satterfield is the founder and president of Shine Music, a Colorado nonprofit advancing accessibility and inclusion within live music.

Through Shine Music, Shawn has worked directly with disabled audience members, accessibility professionals, artists, venues, production teams, and technology partners to develop and test accessibility services in real live-event environments.

She initiated the development of ECHOi after recognizing that access to live-event audio needed to become more consistent, scalable, and integrated into venue operations. Shawn is the named inventor of ECHOi’s patent-pending technology.

From nonprofit innovation to scalable infrastructure

Shine Music created the environment in which ECHOi could be identified, tested, and shaped through real-world accessibility work.

As ECHOi advances toward commercialization, it is being developed as a distinct business opportunity with the potential to serve venues, operators, promoters, and other live-event organizations at scale. Shine Music will continue its nonprofit mission in accessibility, education, advocacy, and inclusive live-music experiences.
